1. Integration of Work Permit and Social Security Card
China has taken steps to further simplify the work process for foreigners, directly integrating work permit information into social security cards, thereby providing a “one-card” service.
Foreigners no longer need to apply for a physical foreign work permit upon entering China. Instead, they can access an electronic social security card via the social security card app, which can be used for both residency permits and social insurance services.
2. Visa Exemption for Uzbekistan Citizens
China and Uzbekistan have signed a mutual visa exemption agreement, allowing citizens from both countries to enter each other’s territory without the need for a visa, with a stay of up to 30 days. This policy is designed to promote deeper exchange, stimulate trade, and strengthen the relationship between the two nations. Citizens of Uzbekistan can now enter China by simply carrying a valid passport.
3. Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award Winners Can Directly Apply for Permanent Residency in China
Foreigners who have won the prestigious Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award, along with their immediate family members, can now more easily apply for permanent residency in China.
This policy reflects China’s commitment to attracting and retaining high-level international talent that makes significant contributions to the country. Not only can the awardees themselves apply for permanent residency, but their spouses and minor children are also eligible to apply, providing them with long-term residency rights in China, and facilitating their work and life in the country.
4. Internship Policies for Foreign Students
Foreign students from overseas universities, who are invited by well-known domestic enterprises or institutions, can apply for a one-year “Internship” visa, with an invitation letter from the host institution and proof of enrollment.
Furthermore, foreign students from international universities who come to China for internships under government agreements can apply for work-related residence permits.
This policy makes it easier for Chinese companies and organizations to attract international talent for internships and collaborative projects.
