How to apply for a student visa in China?
There are two type of student visas in China: X1 visa and X2 visa.
X1 Visa
Issued to those who intend to study in China for a period of more than 180 days, with multiple entries and exits allowed.
Who are eligible?
- Targeting people: Younger than 40
- Processing time: 2-3 weeks
- Requirement: Only X1 visa can be transferred to X1 visa in mainland China. If you hold other types of visas, they should be applied overseas.

X2 Visa
Issued to those who intend to study in China for a period of no more than 180 days, no multiple entries/exits
Who are eligible?
- Targeting people
- within 28 years of age
- visiting China for the first time, or have been to China once with a travel visa
- Processing time: 1-2 weeks
- Requirement: Overseas application
