2. Changes in Permanent Residency Applications for Academic Institutions

However, they must fill out the “Notice for ‘Not Leaving Passport’ Application” and provide additional documents on the day of application. Currently, this option is only available for expats in Fortune 500 companies applying for work-related residency permits.

6. New China Visa Policies Updated in September 2023: Alternative Documents for Canadian Chinese Applying for PR

Canadian Chinese applicants under the new China visa policies updated in September 2023 can now submit their Canadian citizenship card as a substitute for the “proof of foreign nationality” requirement if they have lost their original naturalization papers when applying for permanent residency.
